Associate Professor, Department of Global Health
John Quattrochi, ScD, MSc, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Global Health at Georgetown University. His research focuses on global health and sustainable development, with an emphasis on interventions that improve the well-being of vulnerable populations affected by fragility, conflict, and violence, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has studied a range of programs including cash-like vouchers, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives, social support, empowerment training, health infrastructure, and public works programs. Dr. Quattrochi partners with international development organizations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, and Panzi Hospital. His study of a humanitarian assistance program was recognized as one of the top three UNICEF-affiliated research projects in the world in 2019. His work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, & Development Office (FCDO), and has been published in journals including PNAS Nexus, BMJ Global Health, and World Development. He has a doctorate in Global Health & Population from Harvard University, and a bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has also been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in Entebbe, Uganda, and a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship in Naples, Italy.
