Leah Wilson

Leah Wilson is a graduate from the School of Health at Georgetown University, and studied Global Health and Psychology. Her research interests lie in adapting mental health interventions to diverse cultural contexts. During her time at Georgetown, Leah studied abroad in the Australian Outback, working with the Western Australian Centre for Rural Health. There she completed a research project focusing on loneliness among older rural adults in Carnarvon, Western Australia. In the future, Leah plans to pursue a career in Clinical Psychology to advance her contributions to Global Mental Health. Currently, Leah is working as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, and supporting HPV vaccine efficacy research there.  



During her time at the Global Mental Health and Well-Being Initiative, Leah worked with Dr. Shabab Wahid to complete a research article on the connections between a South Asian idiom of distress, tension, and existing mental health diagnoses.
