Wameq A. Raza, PhD

Senior Health Specialist, The World Bank

Dr. Wameq Raza is a health professional with nearly 16 years of experience in program design, implementation, and analytical work in the health and social protection sectors across eight countries in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Currently based in Bangladesh as a Senior Health Specialist at the World Bank, he is leading and contributing to several complex health and multisectoral lending projects and high-impact analytical work. His contributions to the field have been acknowledged through publications in prestigious peer-reviewed journals, including The Lancet Planetary Health, Journal of Health Economics, and Health Economics. He has a PhD in Health Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Masters in Development Economics from the University of Sussex. 

Dr. Raza and Dr. Shabab Wahid currently collaborate on the ACCLIMATE project in Bangladesh.
