Anna Shaw

Program Coordinator, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center


Anna Shaw, MPH, a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Global Health, serves as a project coordinator at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. At Lombardi she manages two studies in the Cancer Prevention and Control Program. Previously, she contributed to a pilot study in Hanoi, Vietnam, adapting the Friendship Bench intervention, a community-based mental health intervention, and provided critical evidence for a larger study to test the adaptation's effectiveness in improving outcomes for HIV, mental health, and drug use treatment.

 

During her graduate studies, Anna actively engaged in an app-based initiative addressing refugee mental health in North Carolina. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Global Development Studies and East Asian Studies from the University of Virginia. Anna's research interests extend beyond task shifting to include refugee mental health, youth mental health, and the role of technology in delivering various interventions.
